  16. 1 tsp garlic-ginger paste
  17. For Kadi:
  18. 1 tbsp oil
  19. 1 tsp garlic-ginger paste
  20. 1/2 tsp mustard seed
  21. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  22. 1 tbsp besan / gram flour
  23. 1 cup curd
  24. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  25. to taste Salt
  26. 4-5 curry leaves
  27. 1/4 cup water

Instructions to make to make Gujarat Kadi and khichadi

  1. For khichadi: Heat pressure cooker, add oil, mustard seeds, chopped onion, cook till, colour changes to translucent.
  2. Add soaked Dal and rice, coriander leaves, curry leaves, salt, red chilli powder, haldi, garlic-ginger paste, mix well.
  3. Add 1 cup of water, cover with lid. Cook till 5 whistle. Cook on slow flame for 5 minutes. Open it, check the consistency or add water. Serve hot.
  4. For Kadi: In a bowl, add curd, besan, salt, haldi, 1/2 cup water.
  5. Mix with blender, take a ingredients of tadka.
  6. Heat oil, add mustard seed, cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste, sugar, curry leaves,hing.
  7. Add curd & besan mixture, boil for 5 minutes. Off the gas. Serve with khichadi.
